We can't recommend Dr. Joe Tafur's new book on ayahuasca and healing enough. Joe is a Columbian-American Western-trained physician and a practitioner of plant medicine in the Shipibo tradition. He weaves together science, medicine, and spirituality in a beautiful and accessible way, sharing personal accounts and clinical anecdotes. This book is great for beginners or family members new to ayahuasca, and excellent for people looking to deepen their own relationship with it as well.
When the Body Says No - Gabor Maté, MD
A must-read for anyone doing personal work, this seminal book by Dr. Gabor Maté examines the impact of childhood environment on later life patterns and health. Seamlessly weaving together current science, neurodevelopment, physiology, and personal and clinical anecdotes, this is an accessible read and well worth it.
